What Marl is

Marl is Quavern's bilingual assistant for text and code, in the browser at chat.quavern.ai and in the terminal as Marl Code.

Marl is Quavern's assistant. Ask in French or English; it answers in your language. It works with text and code.

Open it at chat.quavern.ai with your myQuavern account. The same account and the same plan carry over to Marl Code in the terminal, to /marl inside the Quavblok game, and to QuavernOS.

What it does

  • Answers questions, drafts and rewrites text, explains and writes code.

  • Reads images you send it, and writes alt text for them.

  • Searches the web when a request needs it, on paid plans, and lists the pages it consulted as numbered sources under the reply.

  • Remembers a few durable details between conversations, if you leave memory on.

  • Accepts attachments on paid plans: TXT, Markdown, CSV, JSON or PDF.

What it will not do

Marl never generates images, video or music, and never writes prompts for other generators. That is a published Quavern commitment, not a feature in the backlog. See "Marl does not make images, video or music".

Answers are produced by a language model. They can be incomplete or wrong, and they are not medical, legal or financial advice. Check anything important before acting on it, especially code you are about to run.

Installing it

Marl chat can be installed as an application from a browser that supports it. What you get is the shell: the interface, installed and quick to open. There is no offline mode, and there will not be one — a conversation with a model needs the network, and the installed version is written so it cannot pretend otherwise. There is no install button on iOS, because Safari offers no way to trigger one; install it from Safari’s own Share menu instead.

Where your conversations live

Personal conversations are yours. On the Free plan they are kept for 30 days; on paid plans they are not time-limited. You can delete them, and you can delete all your personal Marl data at once from myQuavern.

If Marl stops answering

Check status.quavern.net first. If the service is up, the message on screen carries a support code. Write to [email protected] with that code, the service, and what you asked for.
