Quavern sends a six-digit code by SMS. Enter it where it was asked for, on the security page, at sign-in, or in the sign-up step.
What the message looks like
It comes from a short number, with no sender name. Quavern has deliberately not registered a sender ID, so your phone will show digits rather than "QUAVERN". The message itself names Quavern:
Quavern: 123456 is your verification code. It expires in 10 minutes.
It is one line, in the language of your account, and it never contains a link. A link in an SMS trains people to be phished. If a message claiming to be Quavern asks you to open a link or to read a code to someone, it is not from Quavern.
The rules of a code
Six digits.
It lasts ten minutes.
Five wrong tries burn it. A burnt code is not a hint that the number is wrong; ask for another one.
Nothing is sent until you ask for it. A resend timer sits under the field.
When nothing arrives
Work through this in order:
Check the number. It must be written in international form, starting with the country code, and it must be a mobile line. A landline, a premium or shared-cost range, or a number that does not parse is refused before any SMS is sent.
Wait a few seconds more. Delivery is not instant on every network.
Ask for another code, once the timer allows.
If you are told too many codes have been asked for, the guards are per account, per number, per IP address and per country. Wait for the delay shown, then try again.
If you are told codes cannot be sent at the moment, that is a service problem, not yours. Nothing was charged and nothing about your number was checked. Try later.
Quavern never says whether a number exists on a network, so an answer that looks unhelpful is usually that rule doing its job.
Who pays
Quavern pays to send the message. Your mobile operator may charge you to receive it, in particular while you are roaming.
Where the number goes
The number is personal data. It is stored normalised, shown masked everywhere, never written to logs and never quoted in a support code. Deleting your account, or your personal data for Marl or Quavsit, clears it.
Still stuck
Write to [email protected] with the account address, the country of the number, roughly when you asked for a code, and the support code shown. Do not send the number itself in a public channel.
