The Quavsit feed watch

Alerts by e-mail or signed webhook when the published data of a network you watch changes state; included in every Quavsit plan.

The feed watch tells you when something changes on the networks you care about: a timetable about to end or already ended, a timetable source that cannot be read, a real-time feed that stops answering, real-time trips that no longer match the timetable.

An event opens once and resolves once. A condition that comes back after resolving opens a new event. Removing a network from the watch drops its events silently, and a paused watch is not evaluated.

Where the alerts go

  • E-mail, to your account address: one message per evaluation that finds something new or cleared, in your language, listing each change with a sentence and a link to the network's Observatory page.

  • A webhook, optionally: one signed JSON POST per such evaluation, with the opened and resolved conditions. The address must be https on port 443 and must be publicly resolvable.

Verify every delivery with your signing secret before trusting it. The secret can be rotated from the same page, and a test delivery can be sent from there. You are responsible for the endpoint and for keeping its secret.

What the alerts are, and are not

They report what one engine measured — the Quavsit Observatory — not a finding by the operator. They can arrive late, or not at all when the measurements are unavailable: when the Observatory's own record is more than 12 hours old, nothing is evaluated, so a stalled measurement never "resolves" anything by accident.

Deleting it

Deleting your personal Quavsit data deletes the watch and its events along with everything else.

If alerts stop arriving

Check that the watch is not paused, that the network is still in the list, and — for a webhook — the last delivery status shown on the page.
